Latest News Goalkeeper wanted for Senior Team - Apply Now      With pre season training have started this is the ideal time to join this progressive and continually developing Ladies Football Club. New players for the senior and under 18 teams are now being accepted
ABOUT THE CLUB

Women's Football Club in Sussex. One of only 3 Ladies Football Clubs in Mid Sussex and certainly the most consistent and progressive winning silverware this season and who will for 2010/11 be entering our sixth succesive season in the Premier Division of the South East Counties Women's League. We are proud of our proven year on year development and progression. We are also the closest Mid Sussex team by far to Brighton and Hove.

Hassocks Ladies FC always look to the future and do not dwell on past or short term successes. We also believe strongly in youth development hence our forging links with Patcham United FC.

The Club is affiliated to the Sussex County Football League and an FA CHARTER STANDARD COMMUNITY CLUB.

The first team incorporates the former Lindfield Ladies F.C. Our Under 18 team will play in the Sussex County Women & Girls Football League having gone the whole season at U16 level to become League champions. They topped off the season by winning the League Cup.

The first team home games are played using the superb facilities at the Beacon, whilst the U18's will play on a pitch very close by.

Pre season training on grass will start at the beginning of July. Winter training for both seniors annd U18's will start on Thursday 9th September 2010 between 6.50pm and 8.30pm on the all weather, floodlit pitches at St Pauls College on the outskirts of Burgess Hill (opposite the Triangle Leisure Centre) .

These venues (maps available via our useful links) have been specifically chosen for being central and their position close to the A23 and A27 enables players from Brighton, Hove, Worthing, Eastbourne, Lewes, Crawley, Horley, Littlehampton, Redhill and the local areas of Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Lindfield to be part of this forward thinking Ladies Club. We also have attracted players from Germany, Italy, Canada, Sweden,France, Portugal and the United States.

The Club is friendly and well organised. The emphasis is on taking football seriously but to have fun and to get enjoyment from the game. We have seven qualified coaches.

If you are good enough then you are old enough and players from aged 16 are very welcome at any time. Both teams train together as a club and there is no "us and them" mentality between them - we are a united club.

The 2009/10 season saw the need to rebuild the First Team as a result of retirements through injury and otherwise , pregnancies and players moving away and the team now playing is virtually unrecognisable from the teams in recent years. The season was very much one of transition as the old players got used to playing with the new ones but as always Hassocks gave everything towards further development even when results went against them.

We believe in commitment, ability and teamwork. Every single player can make a contribution to the further progression of the club. We also believe that competition for starting places in the teams is healthy and brings out the best in everyone.

Our strength is our team spirit, guts and determination and the spirit shows whether on the pitch, from the touchlines or socially. We take great care to prevent the cliques and other traits often perceived as being part and parcel of a women's football club.

There is a superb ,sense of fun and everyone is made to feel welcome and become involved with and part of everything that happens.

Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
