The Under 18s is a new addition to Hassocks Ladies Football Club and underline the development of the Club and their commitment to Youth development.
The heart of the new squad has transferred from the very successful Patcham United F.C. who have completed 6 years of competitive youth football. During this time, league titles were won in 2008 and 2010, runners-up three times (2005, 2007 & 2009) and 3 cups won (2007,2008 and 2010) with a further final lost (2009). The team went unbeaten in the Under 16 Sussex County Women & Girls Football League during 2009/10 ; and played their fourth successive cup final.
Up to 20 players and 4 coaching staff have transferred, cementing the relationship between Hassocks Ladies and Patcham United. The U18's will in the 2011/12 season move up to Reserve Team Women's Football and in time, it is intended that further transfers from Patcham to Hassocks will take place.
Any U18 players will be eligible for Senior team from the day they join the club. It is a big step from U16 girl’s football to Premier Division Ladies Football but the new U18 Girl’s team can rest assured that hard work will be recognised and carry reward.
The U18's will train with the Seniors and be an important and integral part of the club.
The Management of Hassocks Ladies and Patcham have worked very hard to progress this development and will ensure it is a complete success.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?

No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
